Bulgaria

Bulgaria is currently lying 39th in the FIFA World Ranking. They last qualified for the Euro competition in 2004 in Portugal but failed to qualify for the knockout stages. Their star player and captain is probably Aston Villa’s Stiliyan Petrov who may well reach his 100th cap during this campaign.

England

After their dismal performance in South Africa, Fabio Capello’s England Team will have an opportunity to redeem themselves during the Euro 2012 Qualifiers. Although still favourites to win this Group, there are clearly big challenges ahead for England. Despite South Africa, England is currently ranked 7th in the FIFA Rankings!

Montenegro

The Montenegrin National Soccer team is the World’s newest international side formed soon after the 2006 FIFA World Cup and have only played 24 competition matches. They are currently lying 64 in the FIFA Rankings. They failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2010 but they did hold Ireland to a 0-0 draw at Croke Park. Their nickname is the “Brave Falcons”

Switzerland

Switzerland co-hosted Euro 2008 with Austria but failed to reach the knock-out stages. During FIFA World Cup 2010 they set a FIFA World Cup record for consecutive minutes (559) without conceding a goal and although beating Spain in the opening match failed to qualify for the Round of 16. There is a number of current Swiss footballers playing in the UK – Philippe Senderos (Fulham), Valon Behrami (West Ham United) and the Arsenal defender Johan Djourou. Switzerland lie 24 in the FIFA World Rankings.
